Zachry Welcomes Texas A&M Women in Construction Students

April 28, 2018

Last year, Zachry Corporation supported the Texas A&M University Women in Engineering Summer Bridge PRogram to help "bridge the gap for success" for first-generation College of Engineering students. The five-week summer program provides each student with a mentor, allows the students to live in the dorms and enrolls them in a either a calculus or pre-calculus class to help with the biggest obstacle, the college-level math required for engineering.

On April 28, 2018, Zachry Construction welcomed eight students from the Texas A&M Summer Bridge Program in Houston, Texas. The students were hosted by Zachry employees and given an overview of Zachry, the Houston Ship Channel Project and taken on a tour of the project site.  Thank you Shawna Fletcher, director of Women in Engineering Program at Texas A&M, for bringing the students and helping to ensure the success of these future women in construction. Zachry will continue to support and work with students from this inspiring program.
