Because every person matters, safety matters even more. We established a commitment to protecting our employees and partners long ago, and we continually develop innovative solutions and construction safety training methods to carry that legacy into the future.

Zachry mobile safety training

Conditions and standards can change dramatically in the time needed to take a project from ground breaking to final delivery. So in 1994, we launched the Zachry Mobile Training Program to ensure our employees in the field receive instruction in the latest construction site safety techniques without sacrificing excessive time on the job.

Our trainers travel in circuits to all job-sites pulling large, air-conditioned trailers that serve as mobile classrooms. Every team member, from experienced project managers to new hires, attend these in-depth sessions, which are presented in English and Spanish and utilize audio-visual equipment installed in the custom-built trailer, with an experienced teacher providing hands-on instruction.

Among the topics covered in our mobile training sessions are:

  • Hand Safety
  • Fall Protection
  • Forklift Operation
  • Shoring and Trenching
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Demolition Safety

Forward Thinking

Long before the establishment of OSHA regulations, Zachry instituted a comprehensive training program, the first of its kind in the heavy and building construction industry. Since that time, Zachry employees have maintained a leading safety record by continually being first — from the first to create a mobile safety training program, to the first to speak up about safety concerns on the job site.
