The construction industry is known for being male-dominated. While women can be found throughout the company, women in operations are a rarity, but Zachry is working to change that. Zachry is tackling this subject by creating a new initiative - Zachry Women Breaking Ground - to engage and empower female professionals to create opportunities for development and career advancement within the company.

The initiative, currently spearheaded by Senior Field Engineer Katrina von Kamrath, is composed of 14 female employees whose jobs are focused on operations.

"Our goals are to create opportunities for female employees to network internally as well as increase employee retention," said von Kamrath. "We want to recruit qualified women, then challenge them to grow and contribute at the leadership level."
