Houston Ship Channel Project begins first segment
In October 2017, Zachry Construction along with joint venture partner Traylor Brothers (Ship Channel Constructors, LLC), were awarded a $550 million Houston Ship Channel cable-stayed bridge project in Harris County, Texas. The team began work in January 2018 with a project timeline spanning more than six years. The first three years will be spent constructing the new southbound bridge.
An important milestone began in September 2019 when the first precast segment began using a massive reinforcing cage. See photo taken by Zachry's Casting Yard Engineer Saad Ijaz.
