A HISTORY OF SAFE PRACTICE
Long before the creation of OSHA and the widespread adoption of workers’ compensation laws, Zachry established the industry’s first comprehensive safety program. From formalizing safety requirements to instituting mandatory training, our contributions to the field have made the Zachry name synonymous with safety.
Zachry was also the first construction company to use trailers as mobile classrooms for conducting on-site safety training courses. These hands-on courses supplement our corporate training program and help to emphasize safety practices and hazards specific to each job site.
Zachry has earned the World Safety Organization (WSO) Concerned Company distinction each year from 2007 to 2020. The company’s commitment to personal and project safety has won the Texas Associated General Contractor (AGC) Safe Contractor Award for the last eight years in a row. The recognition comes from the San Antonio Chapter of the AGC and is based on overall safety performance and commitment to safety awareness and education.
