Zachry Construction is committed to keeping team members safe. Staying focused is a priority that every Zachry project takes seriously. Promoting a safe workplace requires awareness and an environment conducive to keeping team members safe both physically and mentally.

While equipment inspections, policies, protocols, and programs are part of the safety world, it is important to remember that personal distractions can lead to injuries as well. Team members can easily get distracted from stress, family tension, financial concerns, arguments, etc. Staying focused is just as important as having gloves, glasses, and harnesses.

This year Construction Safety Week was held May 3-7, 2021. Zachry projects celebrated the week through a variety of events to promote the awareness of physical and mental obstacles that can cause workplace incidents.

The IH 10 from Graytown Rd to Guadalupe-Bexar County Line project hosted three outside vendors present topics including rigging safety, trench safety and heat stress awareness in addition to regular internal safety meetings followed by a BBQ lunch celebration on Friday.
