Salvation Army Fits Over 2,000 Area Kids with New Shoes

Hundreds of volunteers, including a few local celebrities, got down on their knees to help children get the right fit for some free shoes Saturday.


KENS 5 morning anchor Sarah Forgany and reporter Karen Grace were part of effort to hand out new shoes to over 2,000 low-income families as part of the Salvation Army's Shoe-In for Kids program.


Employees from Zachry Construction, Valero Energy Corporation, Citibank and Target were on hand to volunteer. Former Spur Antonio Daniels spent his Saturday morning making kids smile at the Mission Corps Gymnasium as well.
