Two San Antonio business's graduate mentorship program with JV Hunt-Zachry
The City of San Antonio’s Economic Development Department partnered with Alamo Colleges and Accion Texas Inc. launched the Business Empowerment Plan as part of their continued commitment to the development of the small business community in San Antonio.
The Mentor Protégé Program is part of the Business Empowerment Plan.The 24 month program provides guidance and advice to qualifying businesses in areas such as administration, organization structure and operations management.
Joint Venture Hunt-Zachry was matched with two Protégés, Vaqueros Electrical, LLC (Othon Ruiz, President) and Cal-Tex Interiors (Jaime Flores, President) where the team’s subject matter experts served as mentors while working on the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center project.
After two years of mentoring, Vaqueros Electrical, LLC and Cal-Tex Interiors successfully completed the program on May 25, 2016. A celebration event was held in their honor with Hunt Construction and Zachry Construction mentors at the Zachry Corporation home office.
