US 380 DENTON COUNTY

AUBREY, TX

US 380 DENTON COUNTY

Overview

This project widens 10.5 miles of U.S.Highway 380 in Aubrey, Texas which serves as a vital connection between Denton and Collin counties just north of Dallas. The current highway layout has caused major congestion and safety issues as the area’s population booms. Currently, it is an undivided highway with four lanes with a two-way left turn lane and at-grade intersections. This project will address these issues to improve safety and mobility.

Work will consist of concrete paving to widen U.S. 380 to six lanes and full reconstruction of major interchanges. Zachry crews will build grade separations at intersections, including five overpasses with new traffic signals. A critical safety upgrade will be raising medians of open grass and stamped concrete throughout the limits of the project, as well as new illumination.
